Robert J. Fitton

Robert J. Fitton, also known as “Bob,” passed away on December 1, 2019, in Alameda, California at the age of 87.

Robert was born on September 1, 1932, in San Francisco, California to Carroll and Dorothy (Cummings) Fitton.

Bob married Barbara A. Bonino on December 11, 1965 in Alameda, California.   The couple moved to Brookings, Oregon in 1998. They lived happily until his wife passed away in 2013. Bob returned to Alameda in 2014.

Bob was an avid reader, loved traveling, spreading knowledge and sharing stories.  Among many of his accomplishments in life, such as receiving a Master’s in Political Science from California State Hayward, being a fire inspector, establishing his own business, the two most precious things to him was being married to the love of his life, Barbara, and serving his country in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955, and continuing his service in the Reserves until 1959.

Bob leaves behind cousins, nieces and nephews along with grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Those who knew him, knew him as a quiet, kind and a very gentle man.  He will forever be missed but always in our hearts.
