Patricia A. Paulsen, 85, of Alameda CA, passed away peacefully at her home, with her daughter by her side, on October 30, 2019. Pat was born February 12th, 1934, the youngest of three daughters of Edwin and Mabel Murphy of Des Plaines, IL.
Pat was married to Leonard Paulsen for 52 years. They raised three children in Wheeling IL. and then retired to Beverly Hills, FL where they resided for 17 wonderful years. Pat was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hernando. After Len's passing June 12, 2005, Pat moved to Alameda, CA. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she volunteered her time and enjoyed being part of the Trinity Seniors Church Group.
Pat is survived by her daughter Lee "Annie" Paulsen (Sheryl Stessman) of Alameda, CA. and two sons, Jeffery P. (Cynthia) Paulsen of Alpharetta, GA. and William L. (Pamela) Paulsen of Henderson, NV.: and four terrific grandchildren, Christopher and Jason Paulsen of Alpharetta, GA, Brandon Paulsen of Lockport, IL and Ryan Paulsen, San Francisco, CA. Preceding her in death were her parents and sisters, Betty Salveson, Hialeah, FL. and Lenore Miles of Kennet MO.
After meeting the love of her life, Leonard while working at Allstate in Skokie, IL she then began a career as a school secretary for many years at Holmes Middle School in Wheeling, IL and Cooper Middle School in Buffalo Grove, IL. In retirement, she and Leonard were avid golfers, bridge players, involved in their community and active volunteers at their church. Pat was an avid fan of football and loved spending her weekends watching NCAA games and her beloved Chicago Bears. She also became a huge Golden State Warriors fan while living in the Bay Area and watched them play basketball every chance she got.
Pat was so appreciative and thankful to her daughter Annie whom she lived with since 2005 and who provided unending love and support throughout Pats later years and illnesses. A celebration of Patricia's life will be held at a later date for close family and friends in Alameda, CA.
