Lolla Sn. Manibusan

April 7, 1936 ~ April 30, 2021 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Tribute

Lolla Hermina San Nicholas Manibusan, “Gemma”, an Alameda resident, went to be with the Lord, peacefully in her sleep, on Friday, April 30, 2021.

Lolla was born April 7, 1936, on her beloved island of Guam and raised in the village of Agana Heights.  She was a committed full-time mother of nine. She was a devout Catholic and shared her love for God, through instructing CCD and Baptismal classes. She was a Eurcharistic Minister at Saint Barnabas Church. She was an accomplished pianist.

Lolla was a woman of many hobbies including crocheting, crafting, jewelry designing and solving endless crossword puzzles. She was the life of the party and her witty one-liners often had everyone bursting with laughter.

She was a loving mother of nine, to Frank John (Barbara), Joseph (Jacquline), Jesse, Jary (Karen), Jimmy (Alisa), Carmyn (Jimmy-James), Antonia, Haley (Georzann) and Joey.  She was a devoted grandmother to 41 grandchildren and joyful blessing to her 40 great grandchildren.

She was a best friend to her countless cousins and a second mom to an endless sea of nieces and nephews.

Lolla was reunited with her beloved husband of 67 years, Francisco Mendiola Manibusan, who escorted her through the pearly gates. Her parents, Juan and Carmen San Nicholas were there to greet her along with her siblings Johnnie and Mikie San Nicholas and Othilia and Gary E. Barlie. At last, she was embraced by her grandson, Baby George Manibusan.

We’ll be sending the Queen of the Manibusan Dynasty, off in royal style, with a parade through the neighborhood, this Friday, May 7, 2021.  If you would like to say your farewells, to the woman who took everyone’s children under her wing, you are welcome to join us along the route.  The route begins on Park St. and Lincoln Ave., in Alameda.  It will go from Lincoln Ave., make a right on Paru St., make a right onto Buena Vista and end at Park St.  It would be best to line up by Noon.

Lolla was a proud Chamorita who loved the USA!  Please feel free to wave Guam or USA flags, in her honor.  Her favorite color is blue and she was wild about cheetah print.

Please remember to practice social distancing and wear a mask.  We will not have a reception at this time, due to Covid-19 restrictions.  We will have a celebration of Lolla and Francisco’s lives later this summer.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who has prayed for Lolla through the years, especially this past year.  You were the wind beneath her wings and she was so blessed to be loved by you!

Family and friends are invited to virtually attend the Funeral Liturgy in honor of Mrs. Lolla Manibusan on Friday, May 7th at 11:00 a.m.
