Donna Rapposelli

Donna passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2019. She was 92 years old. Donna was born in Deseret, Utah where she met her husband John (US Navy) on a blind date. They married in 1948, moved to Oakland and then settled in Alameda, CA in 1955 and lived there ever since. They owned the restaurant at the Alameda Golf Course as both were avid golfers. They were members of the Alameda Men’s and Women’s Golf Club and the Richmond Country Club. Donna also worked for A.G.E. and Leo’s Normal Pharmacy. She was a member of the LDS Church.

Donna will be missed by all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband John of 58 years and her eldest son Ronald. She leaves behind her son, Michael; her grandchildren, Scott and Kenneth (Katy) Rapposelli, Heather Odom and Amber (Charlie) Oliver; great-grandchildren, Scottie Rapposelli Jr., Mackenzie Odom and Reed Oliver; and many nieces and nephews.

Donna will be remembered as a nurturing mother and grandmother who made an impact on many lives that extended outside her immediate family.  In addition to golf, Donna loved to cook for her family and friends.  Her chocolate chip cookies and pasta sauce will live on in the hearts and stomachs of all that feasted.  Up until the very end, Donna’s sharp mind and quick wit left us all enamored and smiling in admiration.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, September 12th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Greer Family Mortuary and Cremation Services, 2694 Blanding Ave., Alameda.   Donna will be laid to rest with her husband John and eldest son Ronald at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
